The Department of the Russian Language and Elocution was founded in 1932 which makes it one the oldest departments at the University.

Since 2002 we have offered a Ph.D. program in the Russian Language and since 2010 we also offer a Master of the Russian Language program.

The Department’s research focus is in the new field of cognitive studies. Our major research project «Problems of cognition and communication in the context of language learning as a new communicative reality». The head of the scientific work of the department is Larisa Nenasheva, Doctor of Philology, Associate professor. Performers: teachers of the department, graduate students, undergraduates, undergraduate students.

The main purpose of the research is to fix and study new linguistic facts and linguistic processes in communication, their analysis, as well as the development of a program for the formation of the linguistic and cultural space of the Russian North, the development of spiritual and linguistic / communicative culture.

Today the Department of the Russian Language and Elocution provides a wide range of training programs. Among them:

After graduating from the bachelor’s degree, graduates can continue their studies in master’s and postgraduate studies, including the educational programs that are implemented by the Department of the Russian Language and Elocution. Our graduates work successfully as teachers of Russian language and literature, teachers of Russian as a foreign language, correspondents, editors, librarians, specialists in the field of public relations. Graduates of postgraduate programs successfully defend their Ph.D. theses and work in scientific and educational institutions.
