General information and activity profile
|
Department of English Philology, Nordic languages and Language Pedagogy is a structural unit of the Higher school of Humanities, Social Sciences and International communication within "Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M. V. Lomonosov", it accomplishes educational, methodological, research and organizational work.
The Department was established in 2013 on the basis of the Department of English language and the Department of Modern languages and Foreign Language Teaching, which were the structural units of the Foreign Languages Department of Pomor State University. In 2017 it embraced the Department of Nordic Languages and International Academic Communication.
Now it is home to a team of teaching and research staff, who teach on Bachelor’s, Master’s and Post-graduate programmes.
The collaborative research theme of the department is “Multilingualism through the perspective of globalization and cross-cultural encounters”.
Students in the department are taught by experienced Russian practitioners as well as invited foreign lecturers. They receive a thorough foreign language preparation, which allows them to find broad professional opportunities upon graduation.
