On November 1, 1832, the Faculty of Literature and the Russian Language was formed in Arkhangelsk Pedagogical Institute. In 1834, the Department of Literature and the Russian Language was formed. The first head of the Department was I. Elizarovskiy. In 1938, the Department was divided into two. The Department of Literature was established. The first head of the separate Department was M. Germanova. The Department of Literature brought together the brightest minds. Among them, Sh. Galimov, Professor, writer and literary critic, E. Galimova, Doctor of Philology, Professor, writer and literary critic, E. Kolesnichenko, Senior Lecturer. They are also Assistant Professors A. Bednov, R. Frenkel, L. Lenina, L. Fedorova, L. Skepner, L. Reznichenko, G. Polyakova N. Zakharova, E. Lipnitskaya. Today, the Department of Literature provides a wide range of training programs. Among them: Bachelor’s degree45.03.01 Philology.
